Sominex (Diphenhydramine)

Sominex (Diphenhydramine) is an antihistamine medication, used to induce sleep, to suppress coughs, to treat motion sickness, and to treat mild forms of Parkinson’s disease. Under the action of Sominex the effects of natural chemical histamine in the body relieves. Moreover, it suppresses the cough reflex by directly acting on the cough center in the medulla oblongata.

Indication for use

Sominex (Diphenhydramine) can be taken by almost all adults and children who have urticaria, vasomotor rhinitis, pollinosis, itchy dermatoses, allergic conjunctivitis, acute iridocyclitis, angioneurotic edema, serum sickness, capillarotoxicosis, allergic complications when taking medications, transfusions of bleeding points; complex treatment of radiation sickness, anaphylactic shock, bronchial asthma, hyperacid gastritis, gastric ulcer; premedication, sleep disorders, colds, extensive soft tissue and skin injuries (smearing, burns); chorea, parkinsonism, air and seasickness, Meniere’s syndrome, vomiting, including during pregnancy; local anesthesia in patients with a history of allergic reactions to local anesthetics.

Precautions

Sominex (Diphenhydramine)   is not recommended to use if you have hypersensitivity to diphenhydramine or any other components of this medication; childhood (up to 2), breastfeeding.

Dose and usage

Sominex (Diphenhydramine) is released in 25mg blue round or oblong tablets with “S” on one side.

In case of motion sickness: take one tablet of Sominex 30 before travelling.

In case of insomnia: take one tablet 30 minutes before sleeping. Continue treatment within one week.

Not use Sominex to overlay a child.

Side effects

Headache, drowsiness, fatigue, agitation, confusion, dizziness, arterial hypotension, palpitations, sinus tachycardia, xerostomia, nausea, abdominal pain, constipation, diarrhea, dry eyes contact dermatitis.

Inform your doctor if your symptoms do not improve or your condition even becomes worse.
